Climb

"The Mountains are calling and I must go" - John Muir

Balancing along an airy ridge with cloud swirling on one side and the sun glinting off the snow to the other.

Tip toeing up a golden granite slab.

Rocking over on a small foot hold to reach the abseil anchor.

The satisfying thunk of an ice axe in chewy ice.

Pulling over the top of a sea cliff to your sandwiches.

Huddling on a chilly ledge in awe of your surroundings and how amazing it is to access the vertical world.

Taking your first coils to walk across a glacier.

Learning to move steadily as you loop the rope over rock spikes to make efficient quiet progress as the sun rises over the alps.

What makes climbing so good is hard to define but it keeps me coming back for more. It is about exploring the vertical world, the movements, the pure focus and attention, shared laughs and the odd shared cry, reaching the summit but more importantly the journey it takes you on, beautiful sunrises, wilderness and always something to learn.

I have used 'climb' as a catch-all for the many activities that I share with people throughout the seasons which involve climbing cliffs and mountains in the European Alps, UK and further afield. My courses are bespoke and tailored to you so please get in touch to discuss your ideas and we create a plan for your climbing dreams based from there. I draw on my teaching and coaching experience throughout my guiding to help people develop but if you are looking for an instructional trip please let me know and we can create an itinerary and pin point the things you would like to learn and develop.

Ideas and examples: Introduction to alpine mountaineering, introduction to rock climbing, learning to multipitch climb, Matterhorn preparation, Matterhorn summit, 4000m peaks, crevasse rescue training, alpine improver course, introduction to ice climbing......
